The Dabdani Hydrangea Field is one of the most famous places for hydrangeas on Jeju Island, drawing a large crowd of visitors from late May to late June every year when the hydrangeas bloom. 

It is home to hydrangea flowers of all colors, creating the illusion of being in a splendid, colorful flower garden. Because of these colorful and beautiful hydrangeas, it is a popular place to take memorable photos. 

After paying the entrance fee and a single hydrangea, you can get an abundantly flowering hydrangea from those blooming around the parking lot, which can be a great prop for your photos.

“Dabdani” means “to build a stone tower” in the Jeju dialect. True to their name, the hydrangeas growing here are impressive as they are taller than any other stone walls on Jeju Island. The various colored hydrangeas bloom harmoniously, such as blue, pink, purple, and white. 

They change color according to the soil’s acidity, so visitors can see several colors of flowers in the same place. This characteristic adds more diverse scenery to the Dabdani Hydrangea Field.

Hydrangeas are more abundant in the field than at the entrance. Therefore, it is better to go inside rather than linger at the entrance. Chairs and benches are dotted along the way, so visitors do not have to look for a specific spot to take photos. In addition, a big merit is that not only families but also visitors with pets can enjoy a pleasant time while admiring the beautiful hydrangea because pets are allowed on the premises.

Dabdani Hydrangea Field is easily accessible on Jeju Island, making it an ideal place to visit along with other tourist attractions. Combining this site with the nearby Cheonjiyeonpokpo Falls or the Jeju World Cup Stadium is advisable. Various transport connections, including buses from and to the airport, make the visit relatively easy compared to other tourist destinations.

Exploring the field can be time-consuming, so wearing comfortable sneakers or sandals is recommended. Hats and sunscreen are also essential, as the sun is intense during summer.
