Located around Moseulpo Port in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo, the Bangeo Festival Street is a special street focusing on fresh yellowtail, a fish caught in South Korea’s southernmost waters. The street stretches from the site of the former Moseulpo Post Office to Moseulpo Port, and, as its name suggests, serves as the main staging point for the annual Southernmost Yellowtail Festival held every November. During the festival, the street plays host to a number of events such as contests for catching yellowtail by hand and yellowtail fishing workshops, with numerous food options available for visitors.

Even outside the festival season, the street is a great place year-round to buy fresh live fish and seafood caught in the pristine waters around Marado and Gapado. Satisfy your tastebuds with some fresh yellowtail sashimi, then walk over to nearby Moseulpo Port to board a ferry to Marado and stimulate the rest of your senses through some sightseeing. Bustling Bangeo Festival Street in Moseulpo is a perfect choice to explore Jeju’s maritime culture and experience the freshest seafood on the island.
