Jeju National Museum, which opened in June 2001, is an archaeological and historical museum which exhibits, preserves, and conducts research on the history and cultural legacy of Jejudo Island.
In addition to permanent and special exhibitions, Jeju National Museum has opened a new wing of the facility dedicated to educating children about Jeju's culture and history. A free interactive media art room, in which you feel like you are traveling through Jeju waters on a traditional fishing vessel, is also open to all throughout the day.
The museum also operates an experience corner in the exhibition hall where you can rub an inscription of Jejudo Island from the Daedong Yeojido (Map of the Great East), Sehando (Winter Scene), woodcut prints, and cultural properties of Goguryeo Dynasty, Baekje Dynasty and Silla Dynasty. The experience is free to participate in and Hanji (Korean paper) which is needed for the experience is sold in the Museum Shop.
