Jeju’s first designated dog-friendly beach, where pets are allowed to accompany their owners into the water. Look for “Ham-Dog Beach” in front of the Seoubong entrance to enjoy a swim in the sea with your precious pup.

Hamdeok Beach lies along Jeju Olle Trail Route 19, a sparkling gem with emerald-colored waters. It is also called “Hamdeok Seoubong Beach” due to the nearby presence of a towering oreum.

The moment you arrive at this beach, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped into another country. At the entrance, you’ll be greeted by slender palm trees, and the beach itself creates a picturesque scene as the emerald waves contrast beautifully with the white sand, with water so clear that the sandy bottom and seaweed are clearly visible.

The water is clear and shallow, making it perfect for families. The western portion of the beach is home to a cloud bridge, allowing you to stroll above the sea. The walking trail here is popular year-round as a safe place to admire the ocean even at night, particularly popular in summer as it stays open late to take advantage of those famous blue Jeju nights.

Walking a little past Hamdeok Beach on the left, you’ll come to a grassy park and popular photo spot with a truly spectacular view: the blue ocean stretching out before your eyes. The vast, open grassy park is also a great place to visit, particularly if you’re traveling with a pet.

Right next to the beach, Seoubong Peak is blanketed with yellow canola flowers in spring that transform into lush green in summer, offering a fresh new look for each season. Climbing the peak results in a stunning panoramic view of Hamdeok Beach, with Hallasan and the eastern oreums also visible on clear days.

Nearby attractions include Bukchon Dolhareubang Park, Neobeunsungi 4.3 Memorial Hall, Jocheon Manse Dongsan, Gimnyeong Seonsegi Beach, and Manjanggul Lava Tube.
