Winter WarmersTaking the Plunge in <Jeju’s Heated Pool Hotels>

If you want to go for a dip in winter, Jungmun Beach on Jeju’s south side holds a penguin swim on January 1 every year. This is an event where participants welcome the New Year by jumping into the icy sea. While it’s a fun idea, the icy temperatures can be off-putting to some. If that describes you but you’d still like to go for a swim in winter, you’ll be thankful to hear that Jeju has several hotels with outdoor heated swimming pools. These pools are open all year round, and they let you spend time swimming in nature without suffering the cold temperatures of the sea, no matter how chilly it is outside. In this article, we’ll look at four great hotels with heated pools.

Coastal Hotel with Ocean ViewsDyne Oceano Hotel and Resort

Dyne Oceano Hotel and Resort is a seafront hotel situated in Aewol on the west of Jeju. It has a heated lukewarm water infinity pool with views out over the ocean. Here, guests feel like they are swimming in the sea, albeit without the icy temperatures you would usually experience during winter. The hotel has a variety of room choices, including a villa suite that comes with a swimming pool of its own. Other facilities include a buffet restaurant, a bar, and a lounge restaurant with views out over the ocean. The hotel’s location means it is a short drive from Gwakji Beach and you can get to both the airport and Jeju City in under 30 minutes. It is also on coastal walking path Olle Trail 16, making it a great place to go for a stroll by the sea.

Gold One Hotel and Suites is situated near the coast on the outskirts of Seogwipo. The hotel has a heated infinity pool with views of the Seogwipo countryside and out into the sea. It also has an outdoor jacuzzi for those days when it is extra cold. Beyond the heated pool, the hotel has a lot to offer. The Secret Garden Path takes walkers through the local countryside, including a mandarin grove. This then joins up with the Olle Trail 7 coastal walking path so you can continue your walk. There is also a rooftop garden observation deck that provides panoramic views of the island: keep an eye out for Beomseom Island to the south, Hallasan Mountain to the north, and the Seogwipo World Cup Stadium to the west.
