1100 Altitude Wetland near Saekdal-dong in Seogwipo-si is a representative mountain wetland formed in the highlands of Hallasan Mountain. On the highest part of Road 1100, 1100 Altitude Wetland is a good place to sink into your thoughts, looking at the various shapes and ecology of the wetland. It isn’t too crowded with tourists, either. If you visit alone, you can walk through the strolling path to take a look at Jeju’s unique and rare sceneries to unwind your thoughts. There is a nicely paved wooden strolling path for ecology observation, so you can easily enjoy a relaxing stroll in Jeju’s nature.
While the amount of fresh water at 1100 Altitude Wetland is not a lot due to Hallasan Mountain’s basalt geological features, it is still an important source of water for wild animals. That is why Halla Water Chives, Hallasan Mountain’s own plant species only found in Jeju, grows in this area. The hawk, which is a grade 1 endangered wildlife, and the kestrel, which is a natural monument, also inhabit the area. It’s not easy to come across on strolling paths, but if you are lucky, you can spot some wild birds flying through the sky. You might want to let your thoughts fly away as well, watching the birds soar the Jeju skies.
1100 Altitude Wetland was acknowledged for its inhabitation of endangered and rare species and its value as a high-altitude wetland in unique terrain. Located in Seohong-dong, Seogwipo-si, Seogwipo Chilsimni Poetry Park is a park where you can enjoy and experience both nature and art, including 12 stones engraved with poetry and 3 with songs. It’s a park within the city, but with barely any noise. It also has a large area. If you are traveling alone, this is the park you want to collect your thoughts in. The park is mostly used by locals. However, they usually only come for exercising on their own, so you can still enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. It has great accessibility as well, so we recommend you visit to feel the romantic atmosphere of Seogwipo.
Seogwipo Chilsimni Poetry Park is a park located in the 600m course that starts from the entrance to Sammaebong Peak along the cliff. It is also part of Jeju Olle Trail Course 6. Also, it is a part of “Writer’s Promenade,” created by Seogwipo-si. It is a park where you can enjoy Jeju’s culture along with a relaxing walk. In general, the walking paths are well laid. You can enjoy various views thanks to the many sculptures, stones inscribed with poetry, and ponds nearby. Walk slowly, reading the various poems. You will find Jeju and Seogwipo taking a place in your heart.
At the viewpoint inside the park, you can also see Cheonjiyeon Waterfall from afar. The view of Hallasan Mountain in the back and the surrounding forests is stunning. It is the most scenic spot. Changgocheon Stream Ecology Park is located in Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo. It is an ecological park with wooden decks and resting spots near Changgocheon Stream made for resting and natural ecology observation. It is not as well known as Andeokgyegok Stream. However, there is a strolling path along the stream, well-suited for thinking, and emptying out your emotions if you are traveling alone. Take a look at the beautiful curves of the stream winding along the road. You will feel as if you are in another world.
The streams in Jeju are mostly dry. However, Changgocheon Stream always has clear water running down it and is famous for the various plants and life around the stream. In the lower part of the stream, you can see various beautiful scenes such as the forest area of Andeokgyegok Stream, designated natural monument number 377, and Dogo Springs. You can enjoy a different sort of Jeju’s nature for your trip. You can also look at interestingly shaped stone cliffs composed of trachyte for an even more special experience. You will feel at peace when you hear the water running.
Changgocheon Stream Ecology Park has courses for walking as well. You will come across various ecological points when you walk along the paved paths. Of these, Dogo Springs has an elegant natural environment made of stone cliffs and woods. It is also the highest of Andeokgyegok Stream’s water springs, which is why warm water springs in winter and cool water springs in summer. You can feel the splendor of the stream in Changgocheon Stream Ecology Park, where you can see the unique natural environment of Jeju. We recommend you visit if you want to travel, lost in your thoughts.
