It is small in size, but it offers everything that the locals look for from daily necessities to farming tools to clothing.  Nestled in an area where agriculture and fishery are developed, you will find a blacksmith who beats iron to make agricultural tools and located near Hallim Port, you can also purchase fresh seafood caught on the day at a low price.

Sehwa Haenyeo Traditional 5-Day Market located nearby the coastal walkway in Sehwa has about 150 stores inside.  The sculpture of a haenyeo will welcome you at the entrance of the market.  First organized in 1912 at Byeolbangjin in Hado-ri, Gujwa-eup, Sehwa Haenyeo Traditional 5-Day Market is where the haenyeo gathered their strength to host a large-scale anti-Japanese movement.

The market opens on days that end with a 5 or 0, and the biggest appeal is that you can shop right next to the beautiful Sehwa Beach. During the summer, the tourists who came for the beach make a visit to the market. You can see the entire market at a glance, and you can look around various items in every corner of the market.

It has positioned itself as a main five-day market in the east offering seafood, household goods, and food.  Sehwa Haenyeo Traditional 5-Day Market, giving off the tang of salt sea air, starts to close a bit after the lunch time.  It is recommended to visit the market early in the morning.
